The cult role-playing game Disco Elysium is already being translated into Russian. Alexandra "Alfina" Golubeva, who previously worked at the Ice-Pick Lodge Studio, is the editor-in-chief of the localization. Alfina was also responsible for the re-translation of Blood, sweat, and pixels by Jason Schreyer, editor of Kotaku. Alexandra also produced her own series of comics, "Full yet "and"Hazy world". Even Golubev wrote the fantasy novel "Catasterism", which in December published "Eksmo".
According to Alexandra, ZA / UM decided not to contact the agencies, but found and picked up the teams themselves --- among the fans, providing them with "tons of localization guides". At the same time, teams from different countries consult with each other via a common server in Slack.
"Russian was already a group of fans who made the localization, headed by the Volga Kapitonovoj --- maybe you've seen her cosplay Kim Katsuragi. The Studio hired them officially, and invited me to be the editor-in-chief of the translation (which is very flattering to me)>>- noted Alexandra Golubeva.
Disco Elysium was released on April 16, 2019 on PC. The game was highly praised by both critics and players. This year, the project should be ported to the console as well.
